At a time when the state of Tripura is bracing for the General Election to Lok Sabha in 2 parliamentary constituencies, the ruling BJP is gaining the poll ground while the opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc is calling to oust the BJP from power.

Minister Ratan Lal Nath and minister Sushanta Chowdhury accompanied by the party karyakartas on Saturday campaigned for the party candidate for the West parliamentary constituency Biplab Kumar Deb and candidate for the 7-Ramnagar by-election Dipak Majumder.

Taking a jibe at the I.N.D.I.A bloc on Saturday, minister Ratan Lal Nath said, “The opposition CPI(M) leader Jitendra Choudhury will lose his recognition as the leader of opposition, while there will be no MLA left in the Congress party after the ensuing election.”

Terming CPI(M) and Congress sinking ships, Tripura Agriculture and Power Minister and senior BJP leader Ratan Lal Nath said that candidates of both these parties would lose their security deposit in the two Lok Sabha seats of the state and also in the 7-Ramnagar assembly constituency by-election.

“I believe that ‘Ek Tripura, Shrestha Tripura’ (one Tripura, best Tripura), would happen in future and this time, NDA would win 400 seats,” he said.

On the other hand, minister Sushanta Chowdhury claimed that all the three BJP candidates will sweep the ensuing election with record margin votes as the people of this state have rejected the I.N.D.I.A bloc.
