At a time when the state of Tripura is bracing for the General Election to Lok Sabha in 2 parliamentary constituencies, the ruling BJP is gaining the poll ground while the opposition I.N.D.I.A bloc is calling to oust the BJP from power.
Union Minister of State, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik on Monday campaigned for the party candidate for the West parliamentary constituency Biplab Kumar Deb at Sonamura.
Union Minister of State, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik said that it was only a “double engine government” a BJP government at both the Centre and in the state that could usher in more development, and lashed out at the Left-Congress alliance, saying that they had only worked to fill their own coffers at the expense of the people.
“Now, a large number of supporters of Congress, CPI(M) and other parties have been every day joining the BJP discarding the sinking ship. I believe our candidates in both Lok Sabha seats would win with a record vote margin,” she added.
Terming CPI(M) and Congress sinking ships, Union Minister of State, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik said that candidates of both these parties would lose their security deposit in the two Lok Sabha seats of the state.
The BJP-led Tripura government is working for overall development of the people of the state. Tripura has created a model of ‘good governance and protection of people’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of the state would have to carry forward the tradition, she added.
