Along with the rest of the country, Tripura also celebrated the 78th Independence Day with full patriotism on Thursday. Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha hoisted the National Flag at the main state level programme at Assam Rifles ground here in Agartala.
Dr. Saha remembered the freedom fighters and their role in India’s independence and later underlined the achievements made by the Tripura government for the development of the state. He said that the government is working to present Tripura as an ideal state in the country.
Dr. Saha inspected and received guard of honour from the parade of Tripura police, Women platoons, BSF, Assam Rifles, CRPF, and other platoons including NCC and NSS cadets.
A cultural programme was organised in the ground of Assam Rifles, where students from different schools and social organisations participated.
Earlier, Chief Minister Dr Saha hoisted the tricolor at his government residence and Tripura along with the rest of the nation has joined the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign to remember and honour the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for country’s freedom.
