As a part of the announcement made by the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha to provide Rs 4 lakh for the next of kin of the deceased in the Ulta Rath Yatra tragic incident which occurred on June 28 when the chariot of Lord Jagannath came in contact with high-tension wire in Kumarghat under the Unakoti district.  Minister for youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education and Labour Tinku Roy today visited Kumarghat and met with the family members of the deceased in the Ulta Rath Yatra tragic incident and handed over the Rs 4 lakh check to them.

Minister for youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education and Labour Tinku Roy was accompanied by District Magistrate of Unakoti District Tarit Kanti Chakma, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Kumarghat Subrata Das.

“We are deeply shocked by this tragic incident. We stand with the families of the deceased and the injured. It is impossible to bring back the lives lost in this tragic accident but we will try our best to ensure that there is no such heartbreaking situation in the future”, said the Minister.
