Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha chaired a high-level meeting on July 24 to prepare for the campaign program titled ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’.  Chief Secretary JK Sinha, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests KS Shetty, Principal Secretaries of various departments, Secretaries and other high-ranking officers were present in this meeting held in the meeting room No. 2 of the state Secretariat. The ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ program will begin from August 9 in Tripura.

In the meeting, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha said that various programs have been successfully implemented in the state from time to time as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrita Mohotsav’. Tripura ranks first in the country in implementation of Har Ghar Tiranga programme. He expressed hope that the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ program will also be successfully implemented in the state with the combined efforts of all. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards the development of the country as well as taking the country forward with patriotic thoughts. The Chief Minister hoped that the stakeholders would take a strong role in keeping the reputation of the state intact throughout the country through the successful implementation of the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ program in the state.

In the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign will begin in the state from August 9 to August 15. Advance preparations of various concerned departments for successful implementation of this program are going on.  He also emphasized on the wide publicity of this campaign. In the meeting, there was a virtual exchange of views with the District Magistrate of all the 8 districts of the state.

 In the meeting, the secretary of the Department of Information and Culture highlighted the outline of the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign. PK Chakraborty said that ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ program has been taken as part of the concluding program of Azadi Ka Amrita Mohotsav. In this program soil will be collected from all the panchayats of the country and will be brought to Delhi by road to pay tribute to the heroes. Azadi Ka Amrit Mohotsav Memorial and Amrit Bhatika will be constructed there. He said, the main subject of this campaign is ‘soil’.
