Sports activities are important to keep the body & mind healthy. With this view, our Govt is committed to improve the sports infrastructure across the state, said chief minister Dr. Manik Saha after inaugurating the state level Subrata Mukherjee Cup (U17) football tournament at Ramakrishna Mahavidyalaya ground, Kailashahar on Saturday.
Playing sports is a great way to improve one’s health and fitness. Sports have a huge impact on a person’s daily life and health. Indulging in physical activity like sports improves your heart function, reduces the risks of diabetes, lowers tension and stress, and controls blood sugar, he added.
Games and sports are a necessary part of education. The students can build their health in good shape by playing different games. It is truly said that Education without games is incomplete. It teaches us discipline, patience and sportsmanship, the chief minister said.
Games play an important and valuable role in a student’s life. The essence of games in a student’s life is for providing them with a creative environment which promotes their individuality, mental ability, thinking power and their all efforts came into existence. Games always enhance the abilities and skills of children and develop their challenging spirits. Games and sports teach the students to co-operate with one another and achieve success in life. They develop our skills and abilities to get the best and maximum output from us. They also teach us values of obedience, manners and strict discipline, he added.
Minister for youth Affairs & Sports, Social Welfare & Social Education and Labour Tinku Roy, Minister of SC Welfare, Fishery & ARDD Department Sudhangshu Das and others were present in the inaugural ceremony.
