BSF arrests smuggler along Indo-Bangladesh border
In yet another success in its drive against trans-border crimes and narcotics trafficking, Border Security Force (BSF) troops of Radhanagar BOP foiled a smuggling bid and apprehended one narcotic smuggler along with prohibited 75 bottles of Eskuf Syrup on the Indo-Bangladesh international border in the Batisa Colony area of Bari Ghoshkhamar on Saturday late night.
According to officials, based on reliable input, BSF troops of Radhanagar BOP apprehended one Indian smuggler and seized 75 bottles of prohibited of Eskuf Syrup worth Rs 1.50 lakh from his possession. The arrested narcotic smuggler has been identified as Arjun Tripura.
The apprehended smuggler and seized items have been handed over to the Puran Rajbari Police station for further legal action.
A case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 against the arrested narcotic smuggler, said police.
