 Blood donation is the noblest donation in the world. Every donation is critical and you can make a lifesaving difference, said Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Transport, Tourism Sushanta Chowdhury while speaking in a blood donation camp organized by ONGC Employees’ Union of Tripura on the occasion of their 1st Biennial Conference-2023 at ONGC Auditorium Hall on Saturday.

Standing beside a person in trouble and extending a helping hand is an ideal person. Hundreds of people are losing in the battle of life for a drop of blood every moment, we do not want this in any way. We can save many lives by donating blood. It is possible to save a dead person’s life by donating blood by our willingness. Though many impossible things happen in modern medical science but blood has not been discovered yet.   As a result, the patients who need excess blood for some reason, that blood has to be collected from the body of a healthy person. This is why blood donation is considered a great donation, Sushanta said.

One person can help another by donating blood. Therefore, people should come up and donate their blood so that the needy person can be cured. There is no alternative of blood. He appealed to donate blood as much as possible as there is no substitute for human blood. Donating blood should become a habit for the mass as blood can save lives. Sometimes, we come across many patients who pass away due to insufficient blood in the hospitals or the Blood Bank but the regular initiatives of the people may save lives, he added.

A total of 150 people have donated blood in the blood donation camp.

A 24-year-old is on a mission to prove that contrary to populist belief, India is a country that is safe for women to travel solo. Asha Malviya is a national-level mountaineer who has embarked on a solo journey on a bicycle and she aims to touch the heart of India.

Aasha Malviya is a solo cyclist on pan India cycle tour with aim to ride 25000 km covering 28 states making countrymen aware about “Women Safety and Women Empowerment”. Till date she has travelled 16600 km covering 19 states starting her journey from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh on 1st Nov 2022. Tripura is the 20th state she has visited. She is desirous to end her journey on 15 August 2023 at New Delhi.

 The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has set its focus to strengthen the organisation by identifying the weakness in booth-level for better performance in the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha polls next year. The state has two Lok Sabha seats that have been with the BJP since 2019.

We have Lok Sabha polls ahead in 2024. We should pledge to win the two Lok Sabha seats with majority votes and gift it to our Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We are determined to gift two Lotus from Tripura to PM Narendra Modi in the LS polls to strengthen his hands for a stronger & prosperous India, said party sources.

We all need to focus on strengthening the organisation. Success of the organization will come when we work following ideals and principles. I think all activists will play a strong role in concentrating on organizational work with more concentration to achieve this goal, added the party sources.

The state has two Lok Sabha seats that have been with the BJP since 2019 and instructions have already given to all the activists to concentrate on making the party organisation strong by identifying the weak booths. “Our preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls have already been started in the booth and mandal level. We are hopeful of winning two Lok Sabha seats again.” “ Prime Minister Narendra Modi has prioritised to get in touch with the people, to know their needs. So, work has started in this direction primarily,” the party sources added.

MMA Tripura brings home six medals from the 6th Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) INDIA National Championship held in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh from 18 to 21 May 2023. A total nine fighters participated where in 3 won bronze, 2 silver and 1 gold.

Saijak Debbarma from Khowai District secured 2nd position in Youth A Boys (16-17years) -52kg weight category. Manisha Debbarma from Khowai District secured 2nd position in Youth B Girls (14-15years) -40kg weight category. Joseph Kalai from Khowai District secured 1st position in Youth B Boys (14-15years) -40kg weight category. Khapang Debbarma from Khowai District secured 3rd position in Youth A Boys (18-21years) -52kg weight category. Rajib Debbarma from Sepahijala District secured 3rd position in Semi Contact Boys (above 18years) -93kg weight category. Sabinoy Debbarma from Sepahijala District secured 3rd position in Semi Contact Boys (above 18years) -70kg weight category.

According to Raymond Bongcher Technical Director & State In-charge – TRISMMAA, MMA Tripura is the only state MMA governing body in Tripura founded in the year 2015 and is a registered body under Indian Trust Act. MMA Tripura has been actively working and promoting the art of MMA through State Championship, State Level Seminars, and demonstrations to various places.

Today MMA Tripura is proud to say we have achieved that many medals because we and our fighters have really worked hard. We assure MMA Tripura will do much better in the days to come. We are sad we have no proper place to practice unlike other games, if we are to have the facilities and place to practice MMA Tripura can produce more champions for our state. For this we will approach the government for their help and support, we hope they will genuinely accept and understand our needs, Raymond Bongcher added.

Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder inaugurated the State Launching Programme of ‘’ TB Mukt Panchayat’’ Initiative at Rabindra Satabarshiki  Bhavan on Wednesday.

Addressing in the programme Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Dipak Majumder said that India had made appreciable progress in eradication of Tuberculosis mainly due to public participation. TB disease is a serious public health issue. To tackle this issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set the aim of elimination of TB by 2025. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for TB Mukt Panchayat as part of TB Mukth Bharat Abhiyan. Panchayat will play an important role in eradicating TB from now on. To achieve this goal, various programs are being conducted across the country as well as in our state, he added.

He further said, “TB Mukt Panchayat is a great initiative. Under this campaign, every representative of the village panchayat will take a resolution that their villages will be completely TB free. Not even a single TB patient is in their respective villages.”

The objective of “TB Mukt Panchayat” is to empower the Panchayati Raj Institutions to realize the extent and magnitude of problems associated with TB, take necessary actions towards solving them, create healthy competition amongst Panchayats and to appreciate their contribution. The TB Mukt Panchayat also aims at creating awareness regarding TB disease, early diagnosis, and treatment of PwTB, promoting TB detection, and supporting PwTB and their families, he added.

Due to the combined efforts of everyone, blood supply has become very normal in the blood banks said Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation  Dipak Majumder while addressing in a blood donation camp organized by Tripura fair price shop directors association Sadar A.M.C. committee on Wednesday. 

The blood supply has become much normal in different blood banks in the state due to the spontaneous response of various social organizations and organizations for organizing voluntary blood donation camps. But blood will always be demanded. So, considering this matter, we have to continue this effort in the future, the mayor said.

On his facebook Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation  Dipak Majumder wrote, I am very happy that various social, employee organizations and other organisations have come forward to respond to the appeal of Chief Minister Professor (Dr) Manik Saha to remove blood shortage. Due to the combined efforts of everyone, blood supply has become very normal in the blood banks. By voluntarily donating blood we can save many lives, the post added.

People need to understand the importance of blood donation and there is no harm in donating it. Donation is the lone source of blood. So, to save life, blood needs to be donated, he added.

“If we donate blood, it would not just help the patients but our own bodies as well. Donation of blood is like servicing one’s own system as it helps your body form new blood more often and so become more robust”. There is no alternative of blood. The demand of blood could only be met through voluntary blood donation, he said, adding that one can save a precious life by donating blood.

Bangladesh will strengthen security on its border with Myanmar to check the influx of drugs into the country, said Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan in Dhaka on Tuesday. Briefing media after a meeting related to the Rohingyas and law and order situation in Bangladesh, Home Minister said the government has decided to enhance patrolling and intelligence surveillance by the law enforcement agencies to prevent influx of drugs and movement of terror groups from Myanmar.

The number of check-posts will also be increased to prevent terrorist groups like Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and Arakan Army from carrying out criminal activities inside Bangladesh, said the Minister.

Expressing concern over incidents of crime in Rohingya camps of Bangladesh, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal said a massive operation will be conducted to recover drugs and weapons in the Rohingya camps.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Kamal said that law enforcement agencies will carry out a drive against drug movement based on specific information.  He said the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) will be strengthened at the border to stop infiltration from Myanmar.

Assam and Meghalaya held a Chief Minister level meeting today in Guwahati to settle the border issue. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad K Sangma along with ministers from both the states attended the meeting. Both states have signed an MoU in New Delhi this year on border issues. Today’s meeting was held to find an amicable solution to the issue in respect of the remaining six areas. Both the Chief Ministers reaffirmed their commitments to solve the issue amicably.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has raised with his Australian counterpart Anthony Albanese India’s concerns over incidents of attacks on temples and activities of pro-Khalistani elements in Australia.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi raised the issue during his wide-ranging with Mr Albanese in Sydney today. In a joint press statement after the meeting, Modi said he had discussions with his Australian counterparts in the past on the issue of attacks on temples in Australia and activities of separatist elements. PM Modi said Prime Minister Albanese has assured him once again that he will take strict actions against such elements in the future also.

Prime Minister Modi said the India-Australia ties are based on mutual trust and confidence.

Modi said they have a constructive discussion on strengthening strategic cooperation in mining and critical minerals.

PM Modi added that the discussion was held on taking India-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights. Modi invited Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and all Australian cricket fans to India for the Cricket World Cup this year.

India and Australia also signed agreements in the field of migration and mobility partnership and on the Green Hydrogen task force. The Memorandum of Understandings were exchanged after the bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counterpart.

The Australian Prime Minister said the two countries reiterated their shared ambition for an early conclusion of the Australia-India Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement later this year. He also announced the establishment of a new Australian Consulate General in Bengaluru saying it will help connect Australian businesses to India’s booming digital and innovation ecosystem.
