Stressing that technology is the tool for transformation, minister of Power, Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare and Election Department Ratan Lal Nath on Friday said engineers play a crucial role in nation-building.
Addressing in a programme organized by Tripura Power Transmission Limited in association with Power Grid Corporation of India Limited to celebrate the Engineers’ Day at TPTL Conference Hall, Urja Bhawan, 79 Tilla, Agartala on Friday minister of Power, Agriculture & Farmer’s Welfare and Election Department Ratan Lal Nath said that “Be it defence sector, infrastructure, railway or space technology, engineers and technocrats have made their mark and made the country proud. Through their creative thinking and dedication and hard work, they give a new direction to the country,” he said.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha on the occasion of Engineer’s Day (September 15), took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, On this auspicious “56th Engineer’s Day”, I convey my best Wishes and Greetings to all engineers. Engineer’s day is one of the most remarkable events that is being celebrated in Our Country on the 15th of September every year to commemorate the birth anniversary and remember the path breaking contribution of Bharat Ratna Dr. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya to build up modern India.
The Engineers have vital role for the overall development of our nation. This day is dedicated to all the Engineers, who have changed the World with significant innovations and skills such as from the invention of the wheel to the landing on the South Pool of the Moon.
Our State of Tripura is blessed to have skilled and talented engineers, who are rendering their service to the overall development. I, hope that the fraternity of Engineers will contribute their optimum service with full dedication to build up “Shresta Tripura”.
Every year on 15 September, the country observes Engineer’s Day to remember the birth anniversary of Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya. He was one of the greatest nation builders who contributed to the field of engineering and education. Since 1968, India has been celebrating Engineer’s Day annually on this very day. This special day is observed to acknowledge Bharat Ratna Visvesvaraya who was regarded as the ‘Father of Modern Mysore’.
