Tripura police arrested one Bangladesh national for illegally entering in India on Sunday night. The arrested Bangladesh national has been identified as Sohail Ahmed (32).

The police stated that Border Security Force (BSF) personnel of Koyadhapa Border out Post (BoP) caught one Bangladesh national on Sunday for illegally entering in India. Later, Border Security Force (BSF) handed over the Bangladesh national to the police.

Police found a passport, a mobile phone with Bangladeshi SIM card and Bangladeshi currency from the arrested Bangladesh national. The arrested Bangladesh national has been identified as Sohail Ahmed (32) S/o Shahidullah resident of Noakhali District in Bangladesh.

The arrested Bangladesh national said that he entered in India with the help of a ‘Linemen’.

We launched a hunt to track down the ‘Agents’ who are facilitating the infiltration of the people from Bangladesh. The agents locally known as ‘Linemen’ are active in specific border areas marked for the intrusion from across the border. The places are fenced and guarded, but the ‘Linemen’ have the access and the ability to transfer the people through safe corridors in lieu of money. Most of the infiltration bids occurred during the night and the Agents arranged ladders on both sides of the fencing to smuggle men and women who pay for the service, said the cops.
