In a historic decession and to ensure opportunities for the unemployed youths of the state, the Tripura cabinet chaired by the Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday mandated Permanent Resident of Tripura Certificate (PRTC) for government jobs.
Briefing the cabinet decision here on Tuesday evening the state cabinet minister and spokesperson Sushanta Chowdhury said that individuals applying for direct recruitment positions within the state government, corporations, boards, public sector undertakings, and similar entities will be required to possess a valid PRTC.
“The government will consider candidates from outside the state only if suitable candidates with the necessary experience are not found among local residents for government jobs,” he told reporters.
On a different note, the minister informed that the cabinet on Tuesday also decided to procure 35,000 metric tons of paddy from local farmers in an aim to double the farmer’s income and also to uplift the agriculture sector of the state.
The procurement of paddy from farmers is scheduled to commence by July 10, providing timely assistance to the agricultural community, he added.
