An Indian man was found dead on Bangladesh territory on Thursday morning. The deceased has been identified as Ashish Vaidya alias Kalu (35) resident of Nalua area in South Tripura District.
The body was recovered from Bangladesh territory near Gate No. 29 of the India-Bangladesh border under Hrishyamukh R.D. Block in South Tripura District.
A Border Security Force (BSF) official said, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) saw a body lying down in a ditch in Bangladesh’s territory. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) later informed Border Security Force (BSF) about the matter. Following an extensive search, Border Security Force (BSF) came to know the identity of the man.
BSF officials asked for a flag meeting to get back the body of the man. The body was given back after the flag meeting. The police are investigating the case and it is believed that the man was killed somewhere else and his body was purposefully dumped in Bangladesh territory. Tension has gripped the entire area after the recovery of the body.
